Evan Pearce

Evan Pearce began his career editing music videos using found footage for local bands in Edmonton and Calgary. This was the catalyst that led him to pursue visual arts. By utilizing live editing and projection mapping, he manipulates content to cultivate a generative, displaced and distorted sense of reality for the audience. His primary artistic disciplines are VJing (the manipulation of media in real-time for an audience in synchronization to music) and New Media (an art form that makes use of new and emerging technologies). Evan is excited by the possibilities exploring the depths of Extended Reality – an umbrella term for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality – coupled with the use of Artificial Intelligence in real-time and with live editing, all taking place in a collaborative performance setting.

His ultimate goal is to keep pushing the boundaries of live visuals by using new technologies, software and creative code while maintaining a strong, cohesive visual presence throughout. “The possibilities are truly endless with this art discipline and I will continue to strive for new feats in this realm.”
