Calgary…Alberta artists of all disciplines, in the early stages of their professional careers, are eligible to apply for the 2016 Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award.
The awards, consisting of a medal and $10,000, are given in alternate years to up to 10 deserving artists. Past recipients span the rich offering of visual, performing, design and literary professional arts in the province.
The competition closes at midnight February 5, 2016. Recipients will be notified in May and the awards presented by Her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell, CM, AOE, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta in a private ceremony at Government House in Edmonton June 13, 2016.
